You may remember that 8 of my colleagues signed up to cycle Velo South last year to raise funds for an amazing local children’s charity called Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Unfortunately the gods were against them and the 100 mile cycle ride through the West Sussex countryside was cancelled due to bad weather.
Undeterred Team Paragon have put their heads together and come up with a route that not only exceeds the original distance but will also take two days to complete. Let it never be said we don’t like a challenge!
Paragon’s very own Velo France will take place in early July when the cyclists are hoping for more clement conditions. While the final route is still being carefully planned, we know Day One will start in Calais and cover approximately 50 miles and Day Two will see the team ride more than 100 miles. For anybody feeling in need of a little longer in the saddle, there will be a Day Three add-on option riding from Newhaven back to Paragon HQ at Dorking.
All funds kindly contributed to Team Paragon’s Velo South fundraising efforts last year were donated to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Once again all funds raised will go to helping Shooting Star with the support they provide to families across Surrey and London with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
Naturally Team Paragon is keen to exceed their sponsorship target, especially with the more challenging nature of the 2019 ride! If you would like to donate, please visit our JustGiving page. All donations, however small, are welcome.
In the meantime, on with the training!
