When PMS International installed Paragon’s route planning software to improve the scheduling and management of its 30-vehicle nationwide distribution operation, it expected to see a return on its investment in eight months.
It is now predicting a payback in less than that timeframe as mileage, fuel and planning costs are reduced in its 220 drop-per-day operation and likely savings of £200,000 are expected within the year.
The Paragon software has replaced a regional manual planning system, introducing considerable efficiencies by managing daily deliveries of 7,000 toy and household products from one central location. And the addition of Paragon’s Route Execution module to unite Paragon’s plans with live fleet tracking has added real-time visibility and performance monitoring which means PMS knows precisely where to target additional savings.
“Running Paragon in conjunction with NAVMAN Wireless’ OnLine AVL tracking service is saving us a lot of planning and administration time and ensuring that all our vans are used efficiently. We estimate that the combined solution could save the business £200,000 by the end of its first year of operation.” Neil Beverley, Operations Director, PMS International
