Retail distributor AWT International d.o.o. has extended the use of high-tech delivery routing software from Paragon Software Systems. AWT uses the software to optimise routes, schedules and loads for its distribution operation.
A recent implementation by Paragon took only 15 days to complete and it is anticipated that this will lead to the company rolling out the delivery routing software to more sites and to other countries.
AWT distributes popular consumer brands – such as Barilla, Chipita, Colgate-Palmolive, Henkel, Hipp, Jomo,Kotanyi, Krauthaker, Kolid, Mars, Naturel, Pfanner, Pop Corn, Ricola, SCA, Schneekoppe, Schwarzkopf, Vileda, Vivera – throughout Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia. The company uses Paragon’s delivery routing software to plan and optimise more than 3,500 individual deliveries of these popular FMCG goods from its four large regional warehouses and two supporting depots.
This is a server-based software installation that integrates with AWT’s ERP system. AWT chose this deployment option as it makes it easier to extend and provide remote access to Paragon by authorised users at its various sites. Paragon also translated the delivery routing software into Croatian for AWT.
“We have an excellent relationship with Paragon and we have been very impressed with the speed and ease of the software implementation process. The company has delivered on its original promise to assist us in improving our transport efficiencies and remains instrumental in assisting us with standardising our planning procedures. The high quality of Paragon’s support is a key feature within this project and we are delighted with the responsiveness of the support team in helping us to get so far, so quickly,” says Jovica Mandarić, Operations Director AWT Group.
AWT and Paragon are now jointly investigating the opportunity to implement a similar solution for AWT retail distribution operations in Serbia.
