Norbert Dentressangle has selected Paragon as its strategic routing and scheduling system supplier, to support new business development activities. Having purchased Paragon’s market leading routing and scheduling solution, complete with Integrated Fleets functionality, Norbert Dentressangle is using the software to help design cost-effective transport solutions for its customers throughout Europe.
One of the best known names in European distribution, Norbert Dentressangle operates from 210 sites, employs 11,500 people and makes over 650 English Channel crossings a day. Offering a wide range of services – from the distribution of packed, bulk and temperature controlled goods through to providing global logistics solutions – Norbert Dentressangle needed a routing and scheduling software supplier that could offer the flexibility, and range of applications, required to meet its diverse distribution needs.
Short listed alongside France’s most well known supplier of routing and scheduling solutions, Paragon was put to the test in an assessment process that included a semi-operational pilot at the Group’s head office near Lyon, as well as five demanding test evaluations. Won over by the quality of Paragon’s results, its European maps, list of available software options, and responsive team, Norbert Dentressangle chose Paragon. Now used strategically to model new distribution operations, calculate transport resource requirements, cost alternative strategies and present solutions to prospective clients all over Europe, Paragon plays an integral role in winning new business and supporting the company’s growth plans. As a result, and as part of Norbert Dentressangle’s long-term vision, there are also plans for Paragon to be implemented operationally at a number of key continental sites. “We are very impressed with Paragon’s proven business benefits, the range of software options available and the team’s responsiveness,” comments Charles Tram, Director of Transport Operations, Norbert Dentressangle. “Paragon has proved to be an excellent strategic tool, more than capable of handling the intricacies of our operations, and we are looking forward to introducing the system for operational use.”
“We are delighted to have Norbert Dentressangle join our prestigious list of French clients,” adds William Salter, Paragon’s Managing Director. “With market leading companies such as Extand, Whirlpool and TNT Logistics already using Paragon’s routing and scheduling solutions, we are looking forward to strengthening our relationship with Norbert Dentressangle, by providing operational systems to deliver ongoing service improvements and efficiency gains for their customers”.
