Paragon Software Systems has employed more people following another record year of sales for its route optimisation systems.

The new implementation support, development and administrative personnel have joined the existing Paragon teams located at its new company headquarters in Dorking, Surrey and its US office in Dallas, Texas.

“Paragon’s performance over the last 12 months has been strong. We are continuing to expand our client base in the UK and globally, especially in the US and Europe. Because of our consistent growth, we have taken on new people to support our business functions and to help maintain our reputation for high quality of service,” says William Salter, Managing Director, Paragon Software Systems.

In the last year, Paragon announced new software installations and efficiency improvements for many new client implementations including ICA, Store Twenty One, Liberty Wines, Wadworth Brewery, The Linde Group, AWT International, Macfarlane Packaging, Greggs, Travis Perkins, DIBS, Future Products, Convenience Transportation and The Dufresne Group. The company also introduced many new software developments, including special mapping tools for planning deliveries during the Olympics, enhancements to its unique home delivery system, a new despatch-smoothing feature, and a single-click link to Google’s live traffic information.

“We have worked hard to help transport and logistics operations maintain efficiency during these tough economic times. The high cost of fuel and other pressures mean transport operators must keep their running costs as low as possible. At the same time, they have to improve their service offerings. Paragon’s route optimisation systems give companies the tools to do this, cutting fleet running costs by as much as 20% and increasing their efficiency,” adds William Salter.

Paragon has more than 25 years’ experience of developing, implementing and supporting computerised transport optimisation and execution systems. Over 400 companies across 45 countries rely on its advanced routing and scheduling technology to help them cut transport costs, improve productivity, reduce planning time and raise customer service levels. The route optimisation software is used by transport operations of all sizes – from just 10 vehicles at a single site to hundreds of vehicles operating from several sites.
