fleXipod, a fully configurable Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) system, has been implemented to improve the efficiency of same day deliveries at Pentagon.
Pentagon Motor Holdings, one of the largest family-owned auto dealer groups in the UK, has improved processes within their car parts delivery operation with the implementation of the fleXipod mobile proof of delivery and fulfilment solution. By tailoring the central console and mobile application to meet the demands of motor parts deliveries, and utilising specific system configuration with the help of the fleXipod support team, Pentagon has eliminated paperwork for their fleet of delivery vans and can now provide a constant flow of same-day, incoming tasks to their drivers.
Barry Oates, Pentagon Parts Manager, comments “Pentagon was looking for an electronic POD solution to move us away from the pen and paper which we have been using since the 70’s that could provide real time delivery slots and proof of delivery. The fleXipod system provides this, and I am pleased with the bespoke mods that have been added to suit our industry.”
“On-the-fly” jobs for drivers already out on routes is a major challenge for organisations involved in motor parts distribution to contend with, and Pentagon is no exception. Data extracts from Pentagon’s central order management system are regularly populated into the fleXipod central management console, with the relevant job details (including additional notes and special instructions) then sent to the appropriate driver’s mobile device for completion. This process, previously handled manually, eliminates the need for drivers to return to the depot and collect relevant job information.
Alongside process efficiency improvements and cost savings, Pentagon is utilising fleXipod to drive the key customer service values which provide a major part of their offering. “Moving forward, we are enhancing traditional deliveries to the Trade Garages, and expanding to residential customers with selected delivery time slots. The fleXipod console and application is a great system that continues to evolve with enhancements and improvements that all subscribers will benefit from, at no additional cost to their normal monthly subscription” adds Barry.
Luke Robinson, Commercial Account Manager at fleXipod concludes “By utilising standard functionality, including start and end of day points to “hold” driver manifests open for tasks arriving throughout the day and ensuring vehicle check compliance, fleXipod supports this incredibly dynamic, fluid delivery process. In addition, our support team have expertly configured control settings to maximise efficiency. We’re excited about the continuing growth of our partnership with Pentagon.”
