3PL to use Paragon software to analyze and model delivery requirements
Paragon announces that LF&E Refrigerated Transport, the specialist temperature-controlled logistic service provider, has adopted Paragon’s advanced transportation planning software to enhance the standard of customer service and assist with the expansion of its business. The software will be used to manage a fleet of 40 refrigerated vans that handle guaranteed and timed deliveries for customers within the pharmaceutical, medical, healthcare and food industries.
“LF&E delivers 1000s of different products in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors alone. Many of these will have very strict delivery requirements which the LF&E team must not only meet, but also have evidence that they have met,” said William Salter, CEO of Paragon Software Systems. “Our experience of solving complex transport challenges means we are best-suited to develop and implement innovative routing and scheduling solutions that possess the flexibility to be used across multiple industries. This is helping 3PLs like LF&E to deliver an exemplary service on behalf of their customers and provide a delivery service that truly differentiates them in the market.”
“The nature of our business is incredibly demanding and time-sensitive, so quality of service is key to everything we do,” commented Jason Buckley, Managing Director at LF&E Refrigerated Transport. “We need to deliver right first time, every time. It is therefore important that we use the best tools available to fulfill the requirements of our customers. Following a detailed review, we recognized that the Paragon system was the routing and scheduling software of choice, which would enhance our service offering.”
LF&E has been providing its temperature-controlled delivery services for the past eight years on behalf of pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and the UK’s National Health Service. The company provides nationwide deliveries from its head office in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with a presence in Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. LF&E is committed to using advanced technology, including remote temperature monitoring, vehicle tracking and mobile computing, to exceed SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), GDP standards (Goods Distribution Practice) and other recognized industry standards.
LF&E will use the Paragon system to enhance its planning capabilities to meet strict transport requirements in terms of on-time deliveries, customer communications and optimum performance. With many orders involving time-sensitive and costly consignments, it is essential that the company can continue to achieve a high level of delivery success, typically within two-hour windows. LF&E will use the transportation planning software to create accurate plans on a daily basis, as well as support effective communications via email and text message to avoid failed deliveries and any subsequent redelivery costs.
The Paragon Single Depot software will enable LF&E to win new business by providing business intelligence to prospective customers through the analysis and modeling of delivery requirements, while creating competitive quotations based on achievable transport plans. Moving forward, LF&E is also looking to integrate the Paragon routing and scheduling software with its vehicle tracking system to monitor the performance of vehicles and provide up-to-date arrival notifications to the end customer.
